‘Ujëvarë’ [‘Waterfall’] Magazine

‘Ujëvarë’ (pronounced ooy varr), meaning Waterfall, is a magazine created to encourage the Christian faith of believers in a group of evangelical churches in the South East of Albania. All are welcome to read it. It includes articles written by the staff and other contributors from local churches, as well as sections translated with permission from a range of international sources. It is published quarterly: Easter, summer, autumn and Christmas.

Background

It was started in January 2004 and is based in Korçë, Albania. It operates with the co-operation of five main churches in Korçë, Kolonjë and Devoll, and is distributed to other groups emerging from those churches’ ministries - as well as other locations. It aims both to serve local Albanian believers and to provide a place where they can receive training and express ‘Albanian Christian voices’. Opinions shared within are those of individual writers. It is monitored by a group of checkers before being published.

The ‘Ujëvarë’ pdfs may be read on-line, downloaded, or a single copy printed out free for personal reading off-line, though the low-resolution quality of copies printed at home will be much inferior to the published version. It may not be downloaded and printed for redistribution. We thank you for your respect in this matter. In order to favour those who would like a sample of the publication, but may be connected through dialup, each of the pages can be downloaded separately (2-page spreads are kept together). Broadband users may prefer to download the entire publication at once (approximately 2mb). In addition, readers may leave comments by registering their name and email address, thus beginning a form of dialogue. There is also soon to be a guestbook, for those who desire to communicate with the publisher, as well as be informed when new issues are posted online. (Due to the copyright and encryption, the Adobe Reader, which is freely downloadable at adobe.com, must be at least version 4.)

The new printed editions of ‘Ujëvarë’ magazine (the last 4), are only available in printed form, but can be posted at a later date. Back printed copies are also kept in stock.
